Employee Experience trends for 2025

Renascence gives their take on what's hot for EX next year.

Takeaways:

  • Regular check-ins and feedback loops helps identify potential issues early and promotes a supportive environment where employees feel valued and understood - Absolutely! Our mojo users benefit from such check-ins and issues can be caught and ironed out early.
  • Introduce financial wellness programmes - Not every employee is a financial whizz and, let's face it, we all want our money to go further.
  • Dedicated hybrid work policies, including availability requirements - One of the arguments for a full return to office is that managers can 'see' their employees as some feel uncomfortable not knowing what work their people are performing. Having acknowledged availability requirements could support the case for hybrid working and reduce the fear that employees are watching TV and having long naps!
  • Companies that leverage data-driven decision making see a 20% improvement in employee satisfaction - This makes sense as data is the new gold.
  • Have feedback loops between EX and CX teams - Yes! Most employees like to know how what they do fits in with organisational success.

As the article says: 'Adapting to EX trends is more than a strategic move — it’s a commitment to valuing the people who drive the success of the organization. Amen.

The rise of the workplace experience manager

JLL report that companies are looking for people to boost employee experience and productivity.

Takeaways:

  • JLL’s global pulse survey found these roles existed in just a quarter of firms - It's surprising that the figure is this high, truly.
  • A further 9% are considering hiring one in future - Err, shouldn't all organisations want productive employees?
  • You need to orchestrate positive workplace experiences that draw people to the office - Yes, if you ask people to come into the office, then not only give them a reason to, but create the right environment.

As the report says: 'By fostering a sense of belonging, connection, and purpose these new workplace ambassadors can boost employee engagement, wellbeing, and productivity.' Who wouldn't want that?

Does where you sit matter?

Worktech Academy looks at the science of office seating.

Takeaways:

  • Two-thirds of survey respondents are reporting plans to reduce office space by more than 25% within the next 18 months - Not good news for office retail space!
  • In term of experience, those with a diverse seating arrangement have the best EX at 72.8, compared with 69.6 for those with assigned seating and 68.2 with unassigned seating - So, diverse seating seems to be the spice of EX life! The diverse seating refers to having other spaces such as collaboration spaces, quiet spaces etc.
  • You should challenge assumptions - This is very important! Don't assume you know what seating arrangements employees want... ask them!

As the report states: 'The focus must shift from simple cost-cutting measures to creating spaces that genuinely support diverse working styles and foster a positive employee experience.' So, involve your people in the decision-making process.
